MelodicRock.com have made audio samples available for two tracks from the upcoming NIGHT RANGER album, Hole In The Sun (artwork pictured). Samples are available for the tracks 'Gonna Hear From Me' and 'Whatever Happened'.
Frontiers Records will release Hole In The Sun in April in Europe and Japan, with a North American release to follow. Writing and recording sessions for the new studio album started at the end of 2005, with progresses in between the busy schedules of the band members.
Other track titles to appear on the album include 'There Is Life', 'Tell Your Vision', 'Drama Queen', 'Rock Star' and 'White Knuckle Ride'.
In a recent chat with BW&BK; singer/bassist Jack Blades revealed that Night Ranger will be touring in support of Hole In The Sun in late March through April, as the guys have set 20 or so US dates, dates that will lead up to the release of the album, which Jack promises to be a rocker.
He states, “Yes, it's a hard rocking record - very hard rocking record. It's finished, and is being released April 30 in Europe and in Japan, and right now we're negotiating for North America. I think that Night Ranger is who Night Ranger is. There are twin guitar leads, there are twin vocals, there are anthemic courses, there are big rocking tracks, and I think all of those terms have always described Night Ranger. So I think it was sort of a natural progression of who we are. The approach to keyboards now… with bands like Killers bringing in that feel, I think it's really great, because Night Ranger always had that in the keyboard action of the band, and just those pads, synth pads, and that reinforcing the guitar licks… it's nice to be able to do that again, which is on this record as well.”
