November 5, 2008, 16 years ago
The 2009 installment of the Inferno Festival will take place in Oslo, Norway from April 8th - 11th at the following venues: Rockefeller, John Dee, Sentrum Scene, Garage, Rock In and Blå. 40 artists will appear at the event in total.
Organizers have confirmed two more acts: KAMPFAR and MENCEA. Their appearances are described as follows:
Kampfar: "Dark, majestic, pagan and grimm... Kampfar will stomp all over Inferno next year and show us what pagan metal should REALLY sound like. With their album Heimgang, released through Relapse Records in august, they proved that time does not heal - their sound is as raw, grandiose and freezing cold as ever!'
Mencea: "This young Greek band surprised and convinced us of their excellence when we witnessed them live at a showcase and Popkomm in Berlin earlier this year. With an album barely out of the press - EU release was November 3rd - this new Indie Recordings signing are destined for greatness with their technical, groovy and intensely well executed metal. Mencea will also play our Kickoff party at John Dee, February 7th, 2009!"
CARPATHIAN FOREST, KEEP OF KALESSIN, TROLL, EARTH, CODE and UNEARTHLY TRANCE are also confirmed for the festival.
