OPETH Part Ways With Drummer Martin "Axe" Axerot; THERION's Sami Karppinen Joins Band For Upcoming Tour Dates

Sweden's iconic rock/metal titans, Opeth, have announced that "due to conflict of interests", they have parted ways with drummer Martin "Axe" Axerot. His replacement for Opeth's upcoming tour with Mastodon will be Therion's Sami Karppinen, who's first show with Opeth is tonight (November 16) in Asheville, NC.
Opeth and Mastodon, with special opening guests Zeal & Ardor, launch a two-week tour tonight in Asheville, NC. The trek will wrap up in Denver, CO on December 5. Visit opeth.com/tour-dates for ticket and tour information.
