According to Ndtv.com, PAUL MCCARTNEY

paid musical tribute to rock and roll legend JIMI HENDRIX at the Isle Of Wight festival.

THE BEATLES icon performed a set of Hendrix's hits, to mark the 40th anniversary of the rocker's legendary performance at the festival, which was his last major event before he died.

To honour Hendrix, Macca sang 'Purple Haze' at the end of 'Let Me Roll It'.
