Petition For IRON MAIDEN To Play 2012 Olympic Games Launched

A Facebook group has been created to serve as a petition to include IRON MAIDEN at either the opening or closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England (which happens to be their hometown). It can be found here.
Iron Maiden recently completed the recording their new album at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas with producer Kevin Shirley (LED ZEPPELIN). According to a posting on Shirley’s official website: “There’s still work to do, but the band portion is complete and in the can, so to speak.”
Iron Maiden has already announced they will be headlining UK’s Sonisphere festival, Wacken Festival and Bergen this summer. See tour dates below:
