“After hearing back these songs, we really felt like they belonged in their own package,” states guitarist Joe Festa. “These songs are all tied together in a special way for us and we didn't want that relationship to get overlooked.”Joe adds, “We recorded this EP a little different than our first record. We stayed away from too many overdubs, and digital effects. We sort of plugged in our amps, and pedal boards and played these songs just as we would if it were a live show. Dick Hodgin captured that raw sound and ran with it. He took all of our mixes and ran them through analog tape to give it more of a vintage sound. These songs were mastered using little compression, so it really sounds and feels like it has a whole lot of dynamics. We really wanted an old school sound and feel, and Dick and Kitchen Mastering did an awesome job of staying true to that.”
Pillbuster is currently planning an East coast tour to support Brothel. The first confirmed show will take place at The Norva in Norfolk, VA on July 18th – tickets are available now via Ticketmaster. Stay tuned for more dates coming soon.
