QUIET RIOT - Iconic Metal Health Mask Sells For Six Times Asking Price At Julien's "Icons & Idols: Rock N' Roll" Auction

On November 19th and 20th, Julien's Auctions held their "Icons & Idols: Rock N' Roll" auction house to the stars' annual two-day music event on Fridaylive at the Hard Rock Cafe New York and online at JuliensAuctions.com in front of a global audience of music fans, investors and collectors bidding live in person, on the phone, and online. Over 1,000 items were auctioned including memorabilia from Eddie Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Elvis Presley. Quiet Riot, Guns N' Roses and more. The event brought in close to $5 million US.
A stage-played and signed Eddie Van Halen "Frankenstrat" Fender guitar sold for $83,200, while the 1989 MTV VMA Moonman presented to Guns N' Roses for "Best Heavy Metal Video" ("Sweet Child O' Mine") went for $37,500.
The original metal mask that artist Stan Watts wore to create the iconic cover shot for Quiet Riot's Metal Health album sold for $50,000; six times its original estimate of $8,000. The actual original artwork sold for $44,800.
