REBEL MEETS REBEL An Addition To "Dimebag" Darrell's Legacy

In stores today (Tuesday, May 2nd) is REBEL MEETS REBEL, an album featuring the last completed recordings by slain PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. The disc was recorded over a four-year period by Abbott, his brother and drummer Vinnie Paul, Pantera bassist Rex Brown and country singer David Allan Coe.
Vinnie Paul told us that the CD is a tribute to his late brother's talents: "It was a cool record, you know. It was just something that was really cool and something that's gonna add to Dime's incredible legacy that he already has. It's got some of the most stellar guitar work he's ever done in his entire life on there, and it was a fun record to make and it makes me feel like I'm still workin'with him right now. It's just one more thing that he did that's amazing, you know."
Also out today is a DVD called Dimevision. Both the DVD and Rebel Meets Rebel have been released by Vinnie Paul through his Big Vin label.
"Dimebag" Darrell Abbott was shot and killed by a deranged gunman on December 8th, 2004 during a Damageplan concert in Columbus, Ohio.
VH1 has set a May 11th premiere for an episode of Behind The Music focused on Pantera.
Dean Guitars recently announced the release of the Rebel Razorback, a guitar designed by Abbott. Photos can be seen at DeanGuitars.com. Four different models of the guitar, which lists for $6,667, have been produced.
