Drowned In Sound has issued the following report from Mike Diver:

A new theme park in South Carolina, based on hella rock icons and the like, is to feature a 'Mount Rockmore' sculpture, reports NME.com.

The 150 acre park - due to open next spring - will be dominated by the 250-ton Mount Rushmore-aping construction, which will feature the faces of JOHN LENNON, BOB MARLEY, ELVIS PRESLEY and JIMI HENDRIX instead of the usual former Presidents.

Based in Myrtle Beach, the park expects to attract 30,000 visitors per day to its assortment of as-yet-unconfirmed band-themed rides. The Justin Trousersnake Coaster, maybe? The Steppenwolf Magic Carpet?
