RICHIE SAMBORA Tours Devastation From Hurricane Sandy, Video Available
December 6, 2012, 11 years ago
BON JOVI guitarist RICHIE SAMBORA joined Access Hollywood and reporter Michelle Beadle to tour the devastation from Hurricane Sandy at Casino Pier in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Richie was there to help bring national attention to a recovery that is only just beginning. To do his part, he is donating 100% of the profits from the sale of his special edition single, 'I’ll Always Walk Beside You' to the ongoing recovery efforts of The Red Cross.
Richie has many childhood memories of time spent on the pier, and was struck by the scale of destruction. With the pier ripped apart by waves and wind, the recovery efforts to rebuild the park are projected to take many months, and millions of dollars. Offering his support to those aiding in the recovery efforts, Richie sought to bring attention to the long healing process at hand, emphasizing that the damage done by Sandy would take much longer than just a few weeks. "This is not going to be a race, this is going to be a marathon," he said. See the video below:
Sambora's special edition of his song, 'I'll Always Walk Beside You', features musical performances by ALICIA KEYS on piano, Aaron Sterling on drums and Curt Schneider on bass, along with Richie on vocals and guitars.
The track (written and produced by Richie Sambora and Luke Ebbin), a version of which was previously released on his solo album, Aftermath Of The Lowdown, takes on new meanings of hope and support in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, when so many have provided aid, financial help and comfort to those in need.
This single is available for download from RichieSambora.com and 100% of the proceeds from each download will benefit the American Red Cross and the disaster response and recovery efforts currently underway.
