RIGOR MORTIS - "We're Trying To Find Time To Write And Record A New Album"
June 25, 2009, 15 years ago
Heavy Metal Examiner's Mark Morton has issued an interview with Texas thrashers RIGOR MORTIS. The following is an excerpt from the interview:
Q: How did the Rigor Mortis reunion come about? You all have been active with other projects over the years; it didn’t seem like something that would have ever been in the cards.
Casey Orr: "We had been talking about it for years, but were too busy with other projects to get it off the ground. Finally the timing was right and we went for it. It’s still hard to be able to devote a significant amount of time to give Rigor. Maybe if someone made us some decent offers we’d find the time! At the moment, we’re trying to find time to write and record a new album. That takes precedence over playing shows right now. The exceptions of course are high profile shows like last year’s Ozzfest and the Keep It True 12 festival we played in Germany on April 25th."
Bruce Corbitt: "I just noticed one day back in 2005 that Casey had started a Rigor Mortis group on MySpace. He announced they would be doing some shows together for the first time in many years. At the time I wasn’t included... but I knew many people would ask them why I wasn’t involved. So I emailed Casey and told him not to be pissed at me if a lot of people asked them about why I wasn’t part of the reunion. I also told him that I would be happy to help them promote etc. He said it would be cool if I could get up and sing a couple of songs at the Dallas show. It slowly turned into more and I have been part of Rigor Mortis again ever since then."
Harden Harrison: "Yeah, we just decided to try playing together again, because we all had the spare time to do it, finally. Everyone’s other projects were kind of on hold at the time."
