BW&BK; has received the following press release:
With a crowd of more than 60,000 over two days setting a festival best, this year’s Rock On The Range closed out Sunday night with back-to-back performances from LIMP BIZKIT and ROB ZOMBIE. More amped up than ever, the fourth annual ROTR outing -- Saturday, May 22 and Sunday, May 23 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Ohio -- featured more than 35 bands on three stages with Saturday night’s line-up led by recent Billboard album chart topper’s GODSMACK.
“For two days only, Columbus, OH, was hard rock and metal's Shangri-La…” noted Spin.com, while Rollingstone.com’s coverage was headlined: “Rock on the Range: Mastodon, Coheed and Cambria, Limp Bizkit and More Bring Thunder to Columbus, Ohio Fest.”“Rock On The Range was a total blast!” Rob Zombie said of his ROTR debut. “The fans were awesome and insane. We came to rock balls and we did. What more could you want?”
Here’s some more initial critical response to this year’s ROTR:
Columbus Post Dispatch: “A blistering outdoor bacchanal…”
Columbus Metromix.com: “It's not a stretch to say Columbus is home to the biggest rock festival in the country…Rock on the Range might be the most in-your-face, extreme show you'll find anywhere…This year's Rock on the Range was bigger and better than ever, with an extra stage set up and a massive crowd on hand to keep the weekend rocking from start to finish.”
Musicpix.net: “In just four short years, Rock on the Range, Crew Stadium, Columbus Ohio has become a major rock festival that attracts fans from all over the United States for two days of non-stop rock.”
Beyond the music, ROTR honored its commitment to the community and environment through a variety of initiatives. In support of their Nashville neighbors, ROTR made a sizable donation from ticket proceeds to the Metro Nashville Disaster Response Fund to assist in the relief efforts there. In addition, the festival’s annual eco-friendly incentive Go Green Initiative (whereby concertgoers trade their old, broken or unused cell phone for special ROTR prizes) also set a record, collecting twice as many devices as last year. Meanwhile, this year, ROTR once again offered a $30 single day ticket to members of the military and those throughout the area who are unemployed as a result of the economic uncertainty in the region.
Rock On The Range is presented by Right Arm Entertainment, AEG Live and Crew Stadium. Since its 2007 debut, the annual two-day music and lifestyle event, centrally located in the heart of the country, has featured performances from more than 115 of the top rock acts in the world.
