The reunited SANCTUARY - featuring NEVERMORE's Warrel Dane and bassist Jim Sheppard - performed at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City on January 11th. Fan-filmed footage is available below:
Greece's Rockpages caught up with Dane recently and asked about the band's new studio album.
Dane: "Well, what I can say is that the new material that we are working on sounds like a natural progression from Into The Mirror Black. In that way anyway, and I think that if we would have done a third record back then it would have sounded like this one. We are pretty happy about the direction that we are going. It’s like going through your closet at home and finding an old pair of shoes that were very comfortable, that you forgot, and they are still there, and you put them on and you are like, 'Ohh, it feels great, I am comfortable with that again'. So, we are getting used to that whole thing, and we are not going to put any limits on what we are going to do in the songwriting process. So, the songs are coming along so good, they really sound like Sanctuary 2011, and I didn’t really think that… that it would work so well, but now that we are getting into it it’s really coming along so good!"
