SCORPIONS / MOTÖRHEAD Drummer MIKKEY DEE Weighs In On Backing Tracks Used At Live Shows - "Lip-Syncing Sucks, Big Time; I Hate It"

In a new Cameo video clip recorded for Syncin' Stanley's YouTube channel, drum legend Mikkey Dee (Scorpions, Motörhead, Mercyful Fate) weighed in on the growing controversy of bands using pre-recorded tracks, including vocals, during live shows.

He also offers his thoughts on how late Motörhead frontman Lemmy would feel about backing tracks.

Dee: "Lip-syncing sucks, big time. I hate it. That's not fun at all. But when it comes to backing tracks, sometimes it's not too bad if you use it the proper way. You could have a rhythm guitar as a backing track in certain solos. We never had it with Motörhead, ever, but I know bands that want to fill out certain parts of the song with backing tracks; a rhythm guitar or a keyboard to fill up spaces where it's impossible to play (live). I think that's okay, that's not too bad. I can live with that as long as the rest of the song is being played properly. Lip-syncing, absolutely no.

Dee is featured in a new interview with "Chris Akin Presents" host, Chris Akin. During the chat he talks about the latest Motörhead release Bad Magic: Seriously Bad Magic, shares his thoughts on online trolls, discusses his transition from Motörhead to Scorpions, and gives his two cents on Metallica's tribute to Lemmy, "Murder One".
