SKULLSHIFTER Guitarist Gearing Up To Release Solo Debut, Details Revealed

CJ Scioscia. lead guitarist for New Jersey-based metallers SKULLSHIFTER, will release his debut solo album, Surface Tension, on Tuesday, November 2nd. The initial release will be digital only, available via iTunes and Amazon MP3. The physical CD release will follow in January 2011.

CJ states: "I've been working on this project in fits and starts for over 11 years, and it feels great to have finally finished it off. The music explores my non-metal influences, yet certainly still retains a metallic shell. This is not a 'shred' guitar album by any stretch of the imagination – I've never been that guy. It's a collection of songs that fit together quite well, and the guitar work evokes a wide range of emotion. I really like the ebb and flow, and there's definitely something for everyone."
Joining CJ on the album are Skullshifter bassist J. McCaffrey (EXXPLORER), former INSANIAC drummer Eddie Sciortino, DTA drummer Joe Moore, singer/songwriter Joe Fischetti, and WHIRL guitarist/vocalist Nikki Maoz.
