July 21, 2010, 14 years ago
SOILWORK have scanned 5,257 copies of their new album, The Panic Broadcast, in it's first week of sales in the United States according to Nielson Soundscan. That makes it the bands highest selling record in it's first week ever, with Stabbing The Drama being a close second with 5,204 copies.
The Panic Broadcast came in at #88 on the US Billboard 200 chart, making it their highest charting record yet.
“We are thrilled with the first weeks sales in the US,” commented Guitarist/Producer Peter Wichers. “Charting at #88 on Billboard is huge for us, and it really feels like Soilwork is back and stronger than ever. We have had a lot of changes in the band in the past years, now we are back with a solid line up and we are more motivated than we’ve ever been. We just want to extend a huge thanks to all of our old as well as new fans for your undying support, and you guys truly make it worth while. Check out our tour dates for a show near you, and we will see you guys out there.”The Panic Broadcast chart results:

Sweden: #37, #29 (second week)
UK: #42
Austria: #47
Switzerland: #60
Finland: #17
Billboard EU: #67

Soilwork recently kicked off their North American headlining tour with San Francisco Bay Area thrash legends DEATH ANGEL, Quebec’s tech-death masters AUGURY, Roadrunner Records recording artists MUTINY WITHIN, and pirate themed thrashers SWASHBUCKLE.
Frontman Bjorn “Speed” Strid commented on the first show of the tour, and what it was like to play in front of a crowd again after an extended absence from the stage:
"So we kicked off our North American tour last night in West Springfield, VA. All I can say is that we had an absolute blast performing the new songs for the first time. It was our first show in over a year and I felt so pumped getting up on that stage again. The work for our latest album took a lot of energy and patience but made the band regain all the inspiration and strength, so it was with great excitement we entered that stage last night. The crowd was super excited and already knew the lyrics for some of the songs even though the album was released only 3 days ago. I had a silly smile on my face the whole show, and even though the heat was about to kill me on stage, I could probably have made it through a couple of more songs since I felt so energetic. The set list is massive and so is the touring schedule; 27 shows in 30 days and 18 songs every night, covering our whole career. Pretty damn insane! So proud of what we have accomplished with this new album and they way we pull it off live. A huge kick! Can't wait to do all these shows. See you soon."
