SPIDER ROCKETS Premier 'Going Down' Video
September 13, 2013, 10 years ago
New Jersey's SPIDER ROCKETS have unveiled their first official music video, for their single 'Going Down'.
'Going Down' is the follow-up to the group's first foray into the video arena, a combination of production and live clips for their anthem, 'Scream'. It was the first track recorded for the group's current release Bitten, which went live on YouTube before the album's completion. 'Scream' tallied over 45,000 views without a faint whisper of promotion.
'Going Down' has knocked out some national heavyweights on a number of cage-matches at active rock radio including FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, PENNYWISE and HELLYEAH. "It's mind blowing that we could take on those guys and win! And win we did... Over and over it seemed," revels a stunned Helena Cos, the group's lead singer.

The video, produced by film graduate, Jason Nappi, was a zero-budget endeavor. Johnny Nap, the group's lead guitarist, admits, "it started with some real nice guys at an old warehouse in Jersey who let us in as a favor, and a bunch of offbeat common license footage that fit the theme of the song. We didn't want to take ourselves too seriously."
"We heard VAN HALEN shot 'Jump' for just $400!", sets up drummer, Dan Prestup, "...and we thought, we don't have that kind of money!" laughs bassist, Greg Manning.
Spider Rockets celebrate the release of their new video when they perform tonight, Friday the 13th of September, at Mojo Main in Newark, Delaware. October tour dates will be released next week.
