Swedish thrash/death/black metal act STERBHAUS have issued the following:

"Due to higher standards and demands within Sterbhaus, Danne (Lundgren) has decided to leave the band to focus on other things in his life. To be active in Sterbhaus requires a great deal of time and effort on behalf of each member and for about two years the band has worked extensively with ensuring this and to push the envelope further. Danne has come to the conclusion that he does not share the same goals as the rest of Sterbhaus and that he does not have the heart for it anymore.

As Danne explains: “I am leaving Sterbhaus simply because I am not as motivated as the rest of the band”.

The rest of Sterbhaus ensures that this change will not affect the band negatively in the long run as this issue regarding Danne has been known within the band for quite some time.

The band states: “We are of course somewhat disappointed that it has come to this, but we are also fully aware that it was necessary in order to better accommodate where Sterbhaus is right now and where we are currently heading. It never appears like a good thing when the one holding the microphone decides to split but since quite some time now Danne hasn’t really been part of things with the band (like writing music or lyrics) and the reasons for this is surely partly because he hasn’t felt like it as much as the rest of the band, as he explains himself. One can always choose to say either a lot or just a little bit in a situation like this, and we choose to do the latter. But rest assured that the behemoth of an album we are to record 2011 will be just as brutal as intended. It has always been viewed upon by ourselves as a reinvention of the band musically (since we’ve spent the last two years working with just that), and now because of this, it will also be a reinvention of Sterbhaus regarding the vocals. We are truly excited about seeing how Sterbhaus will turn out, and hope to present something very special when things are sorted out.”

Sterbhaus are now accepting applicants for the role of singer in the band but needs to clarify that the singer need not follow in Dannes particular footsteps in approach or as a performer.
