Steve Handel Of SEVENTH CALLING Joins Las Vegas Metal Act PROTEST
December 21, 2010, 13 years ago
Steve Handel, lead vocalist and guitarist for the group SEVENTH CALLING, has officially announced joining forces with Las Vegas heavy metal band PROTEST, as the groups lead vocalist/bass guitarist.
Protest has been in the Vegas scene for a couple of years now, and have worked rather vigorously to achieve many local awards for their musical efforts and performance. Most recently the group was awarded 'best original metal band' in Vegas by Sally Steele's Vegas Rocks! Music Magazine back in August of this year.
Protest has two previous releases available to date, and now with the current line-up in the studio for pre-production on their first full length album featuring Handel, the future for the group is taking on a very promising direction.
"I have know Jeff for quite some time now," says Handel, of Protest lead guitarst, Jeff Turner. "The first time I met him was last year in a club called The Cheyenne Saloon. He had spoken to me then already of considering the position of singer. With all of the things that I had going on with Seventh Calling at the time, it just didn't work out. Now I have my Calling project in perspective and I have time for the Protest project now, as well. I am really excited to get back to doing lead vocals and bass guitar again, and hammering out some great heavy metal tunes!"Protest lineup:
Steve Handel - Lead Vocals/Bass Guitar
Jeff Turner - Lead Guitars/Backing Vocals
Chris Mowry - Lead Guitars/Backing Vocals
Mark Dompier - Drums/Percussion
