On November 27th, guitar legend Steve Vai's Inviolate Tour landed at The Moore Theater in Seattle, WA. The show included a special performance celebrating what would have been the late Jimi Hendrix's 80th birthday.
Vai: "The odds seemed incredible that our gig in Seattle on Nov 27th would fall on the 80th birthday of The Boy From Seattle, Jimi Hendrix himself. And to add to the odds, the magnificent Randy Hansen was in town and popped into the show for a crushing version of 'Midnight' by Jimi Hendrix with our band.
Randy has been entertaining the world for more than 45 years with his stunning rendition of Jimi. The first time I saw Randy perform was at a club on Long Island called My Father's Place. I was 17 years old and it was one of the most electrifying concerts I’ve seen. To see his dedication, his look, the way he moved, the way he played those historic Hendrix songs and riffs was all a 17 year old me could hope for to scratch that itch of never seeing Jimi play in person.
Randy, thank you for your many years of devotion to your craft and all the joy you have brought to us by allowing us to dream in real life."
