STYX Vocalist / Keyboardist Lawrence Gowan Inducted To Scarborough Walk Of Fame

BW&BK; has learned that STYX vocalist/keyboardist Lawrence Gowan, who carved out a successful solo career for himself in the '80s, was inducted into the Scarborough Walk Of Fame in Toronto, Ontario last week.

Gowan was one of seven inductees for 2011. He has one Casby Award and has been nominated for 12 Juno awards, winning two. Gowan had six Canadian Top 10 songs, four platinum, three gold albums and one gold single. He joined Styx in 1999.

The Scarborough Walk of Fame Associate is a non-profit, volunteer driven organization, dedicated to honoring individuals who, through actions and deeds, bring pride to the community of Scarbrorough and serve to inspire tomorrow's leaders.

Inductees are born in, or have spent most of their formative years in Scarborough. Behind every 'star' on the Walk Of Fame pathway is an individual whose talents and accomplishments have deeply enriched the Scarborough community.
