February 22, 2013, 11 years ago
German rockers THE NEW BLACK will release their third album, III: Cut Loose, on March 15th via AFM Records. A new video for the album cut, 'Count Me In', can now be seen below:
Mixing duties for the new album were handled by Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, PRETTY MAIDS) who commented: "These guys completely floored me with their stylish mix of both modern metal and vintage rock 'n' roll. This is a band that could get big if things are done the right way!"
III: Cut Loose was once more recorded and produced by the band themselves. The album will be released in different configurations, among them a big fat digipak with loads of bonus tracks. There‘s also talk of guest singers, free downloads and video clips with nasty spiders and middlefingers.
III: Cut Loose tracklisting:
'Innocence & Time'
'Count Me In'
'Muzzle & Blinkers'
'Superhuman Mission'
'Cut Loose'
'Any Colour You Like (As Long As It's Black)'
'Burning D'
'Not Quite That Simple'
'Sharkpool'
'The Unexpected Truth'
'One Thing I Know'
'Antidote'
III: Cut Loose finds the band fine-tuning their signature style while keeping heaviness and catchiness fully intact. Their music has been described in the past as "Our kind of party: BLACK LABEL SOCIETY bring the booze, PANTERA spice it up, THIN LIZZY add some taste, and ALTER BRIDGE smooth it over before METALLICA turn it black. And you can be there, too!”
The self-titled debut album was released in 2009, after the pre-production was named Demo Of The Month in four major music magazines in their native Germany. The sophomore effort, II: Better In Black, dropped in 2011. The New Black have played alongside acts as Volbeat, Alter Bridge and Black Label Society, they have rocked all major festivals like Wacken and Rock am Ring, and supported AC/DC in front of 65,000 people.
