TIM "RIPPER" OWENS Looks Back On Tensions In JUDAS PRIEST During Making Of Demolition Album - "We Weren't Even Together Hardly..."
January 17, 2022, 2 years ago
Former Judas Priest frontman Tim "Ripper" Owens - now with KK's Priest launched by K.K. Downing - recently guested on The Jasta Show hosted by Hatebreed vocalist Jamey Jasta. Owens discussed joining the band, revealed what he thinks of the different iterations of Judas Priest over the years, band politics, and more.
Owens on tensions between Downing and guitarist Glenn Tipton:
"I saw it during Demolition. We weren't even together hardly; it was never Glenn and Ken together, ever. I would go to Ken's house on the weekends and we would hang out and have a pint, play some snooker, and it was brewing then. And, obviously, money helps out, so you get Rob (Halford) back and you get your millions back, and you're not playing smaller venues anymore."
Owens was with Judas Priest from 1996 – 2003. He recorded two studio albums with the band: Jugulator (1997) and Demolition (2001). He also recorded the live albums '98 Metal Meltdown (1998) and Live In London (2003).
