This August long weekend, Hamilton’s rock station Y108 is presenting its fourth annual Rock ‘N’ Roll Picnic at Gage Park on August 1, 2009 starting at noon. This free-admission event features a lineup of homegrown talent, including founding member of Canadian rock legends TRIUMPH, Rik Emmett.

“With summer in full swing and people taking advantage of ‘staycations’, Y108 is excited to bring another great lineup of Canadian rock to Gage Park this August long weekend,” said Derm Carnduff, Program Director, Y108. “From established artists to up-and-comers, we’re thrilled to continue to connect our loyal listeners in the greater Hamilton area with the best rock ‘n’ roll in Canada with this free-admission event. Y108’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Picnic is the best place to celebrate our Civic Holiday.”

In addition to the great Canadian performances, this family-friendly event will feature the Family Fun Zone - a children’s amusement area complete with inflatables, bouncers, kid’s games and rides, plus treats for grown-ups such as a beverage garden, vendor village and much more.

The Y108 Rock ‘n’ Roll Picnic is presented by Lakeport Brewery and takes place at Gage Park on August 1 at noon. For more details on the Picnic and Y108's talent search, tune in to 107.9 FM or log on to www.y108.ca.
