UK's Damnation Festival - MY DYING BRIDE Confirmed; RAGING SPEEDHORN Not Performing
July 11, 2008, 16 years ago
The 2008 edition of the UK's Damnation Festival is scheduled to take place in Lees, England on Saturday, November 22nd at University Of Leeds.
Organizers check in with the following update:
"UK gothic doom legends MY DYING BRIDE are the latest addition to the heavyweight bill for Damnation Festival 2008. They will perform a rare UK show on the Jagermeister Stage at this year's event, hosted at Leeds Union University, on Saturday, November 22nd.And they will join a stunning bill which already includes Carcass, Pitchshifter, Napalm Death, Sigh and The Berzerker among others.
Festival director Gavin McInally said: "My Dying Bride are one of the finest bands in the UK and it's a privilege to have them playing the festival this year. Unfortunately, plans for Raging Speedhorn to play at the festival have had to be scrapped after the band were offered a final tour of Japan later this year. We apologise to everyone for this cancellation but there was no way around it, it was too good an offer for Raging Speedhorn to turn down and we wish them all the best out in Japan. They will be replaced by an equally heavy slab of metal, we promise!"
Following a sell out of the first batch of tickets, the remainder of tickets for Damnation Festival are now on sale, available from http://www.leedstickets.com/, http://www.ticketline.co.uk/ and http://www.seetickets.co.uk/.
Tickets are also on sale in Leeds at stores including Crash and Jumbo.
