SHINING’s Niklas Kvarforth will be joining the live line-up of SKITLIV on their forthcoming six date mini-tour with Japanese all-girl band GALLHAMMER.

Also on stage with the band will be their new bass player, the sculptor Spacebrain, who was in the past responsible for MAYHEM’s stage sets. He is currently preparing stage sets for Skitliv and will be debuting some of them on the tour, which is set to kick off in the band’s hometown of Oslo, with a gig at Club Maiden on September 30th, and will take in the following dates:

September

30 - Club Maiden - Oslo, Norway

October

1 - Spanien - Aarhus, Denmark
2 - Loppen - Copenhagen, Denmark
3 - K17 - Berlin, Germany
4 - Scheld'Apen - Antwerp, Belgium
5 - Baroeg - Rotterdam, Netherlands

Earlier this year Kvarforth joined former Mayhem front man Maniac’s new doom black metal band Skitliv, as studio guitarist, with the intention of playing live whenever his commitments to Shining allowed. A close friend of Maniac’s, Kvarforth is a big fan of the band, and the two have been working together on material for the forthcoming album Glem Aldri Korset.

Commented Maniac: “The arrival of Kvarforth into the band has actually caused a delay in the completion of the album as we have been re-writing together. It’s very much a positive rather than a negative, because his input has been extraordinary. He has an amazing skill and creativity, and is adding extra dimensions to the music that fit in perfectly with what I had originally envisaged. We’re lucky that the Gallhammer tour schedule fits in with his free time so that he can join us live”.

Skitliv will be joining Shining and Austrian black metallers HELLSAW for an 18 date European tour in December, with dates being announced shortly once the schedule is confirmed. Plans are also being considered for the two bands to tour further together in the future.

Unfinished tracks from Glem Aldri Korset, including 'Amfetamin' with current Mayhem front man Attila joining Maniac on vocals, and 'Hollow Devotion' with spoken intro and outro by GORGOROTH’s Gaahl, can be heard on Skitliv's official Myspace page at www.myspace.com/skitliv777, as can Maniac’s video for 'Virescit Volnere Virtus'.
