ZAKK WYLDE On Upcoming OZZY OSBOURNE Album - "I'm Really Happy With The Way It Came Out"; Video

News recently surfaced that guitar legend Zakk Wylde will not be making a mere guest appearance on Ozzy Osbourne's next studio album, as previously reported. The as-yet-untitled album will feature Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Tony Iommi, and according to a Diary Of The Madmen - The Ultimate Ozzy Osbourne Podcast chat with Ozzy himself, Wylde will in fact play on the entire album.

In a new interview with The Cassius Morris Show, Zakk talks about the upcoming Black Label Society album and tour, as well as Ozzy's forthcoming record, and much more.

In regards to Ozzy's next album, Zakk reveals: "On this one, I didn't have anything to do with… Basically, everything was already written. I would change a few things here and there, going into certain riffs or something like that, but you know, do my own thing to 'em. But it was pretty much already done. But kind of how we did Down To Earth, I think, was more like that where everything was pretty much written before I got in there. So I just do my thing,  and then put my solos and everything like that. But it was great in regards that Eric Clapton is on it, Jeff Beck and Tony Iommi. So, if you have told 14-year-old me growing up in my parents' house practicing in my bedroom that I was gonna be on a record with all my heroes, you would have been, 'Forget about it.' So, it was definitely an honor playing rhythm guitar on those tracks with the guys. But, yeah, I'm really happy with the way it came out."

Black Label Society will release their eleventh studio album, Doom Crew Inc., on November 26 via Entertainment One (eOne). In the new video below, Zakk discusses the album tracks:

In another video, Zakk discusses the band’s recording process:

Doom Crew inc. will be available digitally, on CD and vinyl, plus a deluxe edition that includes vinyl, CD longbox, cassette and more. Pre-order here.

The 12-track album is both a tribute to the band’s “first to bleed, last to leave'' road crew, and a salute to the legion whose support, stretching back to 1998, rivals that of the KISS Army. The stomping, heavy, bluesy, recklessly unhinged hard-rock-metal quartet are part invading horde, and part traveling carnival - summoning caffeine-fueled cacophony on records and the stage.

The songs are odes to celebration and mourning, the soundtracks to jubilant evenings and bewildering days recorded in Zakk’s home studio, the Black Vatican. On this album, Zakk trades solos and twin-guitar parts with Dario Lorina, backed by the rumble of longtime bassist, John “J.D.” DeServio, and powerhouse drummer, Jeff Fabb.

“We incorporated Father Dario even more into the solos, doubling with me and being more involved in that regard,” said frontman, Zakk Wylde. “It really, truly is a two-guitar album, more so than ever. A twin guitar band, whether it’s the Allman Brothers or Judas Priest, with harmony lines, unison lines, and trading off solos. It stemmed from the live shows, where we’d both go into the crowd and extend songs like ‘Fire It Up.’”
