Norway Rock Festival - Day 2: ACCEPT, STATUS QUO & New Discoveries!
July 10, 2018, 6 years ago
Final day of the picturesque Norway Rock setting. German metal legends Accept are what brought me (and many others) to the secluded glade, surrounded by tree lined crags on three sides. Saturday offered the opportunity to witness some Norge musical history, as well as a few international stars.
Kicking things off was the commercial ‘80s sounds of Latvian youngsters Bloody Heels. A double dose of UK blues rock, first from Inglorious, fronted by former TSO and Uli Jon Roth vocalist Nathan James, and then a humor-filled set by long running boogie band Status Quo. The home country was represented by the early (i.e. John Arch era) Fates Warning stylings of Manitou (reunited for this gig) and the high energy, smoking and drinking raunch ‘n’ roll of all-male Backstreet Girls. Watch for a detailed report, on the entire event, soon.
