ALICE IN CHAINS Bassist Mike Inez Ties The Knot
May 9, 2010, 14 years ago
Michael "Mike" Inez, the Grammy Award winning rock musician best known for his role as the bass guitarist of ALICE IN CHAINS, has taken the plunge and starts a whole new chapter of life; marriage. At an undisclosed location this legendary bassist tied the knot with his bride, Sydney Kelly yesterday (May 8th).
Taking only a short break in the Black Gives Way to Blue National Tour; Jerry Cantrell, Sean Kinney and William DuVall are celebrating their first Grammy nominee and studio album in 14 years. 2010 is a year of great highs for the band and Inez. One of these great moments was working directly with SIR ELTON JOHN.
Elton John played the piano on their new album’s title track 'Black Gives Way To Blue'. The song being a tribute to their late band member Layne was difficult for the band to record. “We equate it to losing a family member for sure. Especially the song Jerry wrote for Layne, and of course Elton John, he got the whole thing and wanted to come and play piano on that track so it wasn’t just the band going through this thing but our peers too.”
In January, Inez and the band Alice In Chains rocked the Grammys Red Carpet in London Chic West End by Simon Carter. The London Chic look was so popular with the band they asked celebrity stylist Cory Savage to reach out to Simon Carter to custom design the wedding party.
Tim Danser, VP of Bagir International, who represents Simon Carter in North America said “We are very proud to have been chosen as the designer of choice for two milestones in Mike’s life and career. We wish him and his new bride a lifetime of happiness.”
