BW&BK; has received the following press release:

The House Of Blues on the Sunset Strip will be transformed to the House Of Billy when legendary rocker BILLY IDOL ignites the venue with three special shows on Tuesday, September 16th, Wednesday, September 17th and Friday, September 19th.

“My own house is way too orderly, so we decided to go down to the Strip and make a mess,” says Billy.

The House Of Billy shows - which are being presented by three different radio stations (Tuesday, Indie 103.1; Wednesday, Jack FM; and Friday, KLOS)--will conclude Idol’s national headlining 2008 world tour which includes an August 26th concert at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom. Following the tour, Idol will make one last appearance when he headlines Jack’s Third Show, Saturday, September 27th at Irvine’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheare.

For the House Of Billy, the exterior of the venue will be wrapped with images of Billy created by acclaimed Obey Giant graphic designer and illustrator Shepard Fairey, who also designed the album artwork for the June 2008 release The Very Best Of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself. Fairey’s Andre The Giant street art has been seen around the world and his credits include creating the iconic Obama “HOPE” poster, various anti-war posters and the poster art for the feature film Walk The Line.

Idol’s current set list includes two brand new songs - 'John Wayne' and 'New Future Weapon' - from The Very Best Of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself, a new career-spanning CD, Deluxe Edition CD/DVD and digital collection (Capitol/EMI). The new tracks find the man still at the peak of his powers, working with longtime partner and guitar great Steve Stevens and his other current band members: drummer and songwriting collaborator Brian Tichy and keyboardist Derek Sherinian.

The Very Best Of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself gathers together the music that Billy Idol has taken to stages all around the world. The CD features all seven of Idol’s Top 10 hits among its 18 tracks, including two #1s. The music on The Very Best Of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself is stylistically diverse - 'Dancing With Myself', 'Eyes Without A Face', 'Cradle Of Love' and 'Shock To The System', among others - but is firmly rooted in the spirit of the original punk movement from which Idol emerged as the leader of GENERATION X. He long ago found a way to take that sneering punk attitude into the pop and rock mainstream, carving out songs that have lasted a lifetime.

Listening back to The Very Best Of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself, the man himself felt a real sense of pride. “I was knocked out,” Idol says. “For all the up and downs, there’s some quality there. So I feel like I can walk into my house justified. The highs were very high - sometimes too high - and the lows were low, but somehow it still holds up.”
