Happy New Year from BraveWords and all the best for a headbanging 2014! To honour tradition, we always follow our annual BravePicks by handing over the pen to our devout scribes and let them speak out about the year that was and the year ahead of us!
So now we present each writer's take on 2013 with the always popular Brave Embarrassments, Concerts, Thoughts On 2013, Predictions For 2014 and What / Who Needs To Stop In 2014!

Please keep metal in print magazines; there’s only a few left in North America. Was happy to see fans buying metal CDs (and vinyl) again as well as supporting local shows. I enjoyed bands who produced its own alcohol; keep Trooper Ale flowing MAIDEN! Is Paul Di’Anno really retiring? Glad to see Jason Newsted (ex-METALLICA, VOIVOD, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM) came back to the metal community.
ICED EARTH will conquer the world with Plagues of Babylon. KING DIAMOND will release new material and bring a proper tour to North America. RIOT V won’t make Mark Reale roll over in his grave. SAXON come to America with a full orchestra and deliver its classics that grace Unplugged and Strung Up. DETHKLOK releases new material with rescued rhythm guitarist Toki Wartooth.
Auto-tune and pitch-correction on metal recordings.
