Campaigners Try To Get LEMMY And SLASH Statues Erected In The UK

According to Thisisstaffordshire.co.uk, campaigners want the Stoke-on-Trent City Council to recognise the achievements of MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister and SLASH (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES).
Slash was born in London but lived in Stoke until he was six years-old, while Lemmy was born and raised in nearby Burslem.
A petition signed by 318 supporters was presented to the city council last month and was referred to the economic development overview and scrutiny committee.
A spokesman for the campaigners wrote to the committee, saying: "We firmly believe it could be a landmark that is really quite individual and exclusive to the area, and would definitely be a popular attraction for fans of rock music worldwide."
