Guitarist Dan Lorenzo (ex-HADES) recently conducted an interview with comedian Jim Florentine, who tour as an opener for DAMAGEPLAN, for Steppin’ Out magazine (www.so-mag.com).

The following is an excerpt from the interview:

Q: What do you remember most about touring with “Dimebag” and Damageplan?

A: “It was just a great learning experience man. Just watching them get up for a gig, like before the gig and watching their ritual. Just watching a guy that had played for 100,000 people in Russia or whatever. When they started Damageplan they were doing smaller crowds, and they were doing a small headliner tour starting in Canada. Just watching them go, ‘Hey man, there's f--king 300 people out there- nobody better f--king lay down tonight. Let's give these 300 kids a f--king killer show- I don't want anybody going through the motions out there, pretend there's a 100,00 people out there’. This is coming from a guy who had millions in the bank, he can get back with PANTERA the next day and sell 20,000 seats but the guy was still motivated playing to 300 people in the middle of Canada.”
