EIDOLON Return With First Recording In 10 Years; "Leave This World Behind" Streaming
December 14, 2015, 8 years ago
Canadian metal cult band Eidolon featuring brothers and former Megadeth members Glen Drover (guitars) and Shawn Drover (drums) have recorded a new song, "Leave This World Behind", also featuring bassist Adrian Robichaud and Pagan's Mind vocalist Nils K. Rue. It is the band's first recording in almost 10 years.
Glen Drover recently spoke with Bravewords scribe Carl Begai about dusting off Eidolon for this one-off reappearance. An excerpt from the interview, coming soon, is available below. Drover comments on the band's decision to call it quits after only one album with Rue, considered by many fans to be the best singer Eidolon had in their 10 year career.
Drover: "To be honest, we never called it quits, we basically just decided to put the band on the shelf. I mean, at that point yes, Shawn and I were now half of Megadeth, and way too busy to consider anything else regardless of the fact that we had finally found an all around amazing and professional singer who couldn't be matched. We had a lot of negative feedback in the past about some of our previous singers. All of those people were silenced when we brought Nils in."
Eidolon released seven albums in total:
Zero Hour (1996)
Seven Spirits (1997)
Nightmare World (2000)
Hallowed Apparition (2001)
Coma Nation (2002)
Apostles of Defiance (2003)
The Parallel Otherworld (2006)
Watch for the feature story coming to BraveWords later this week. Check out "Leave This World Behind" below.
