FOUR BY FATE - "We Are Not A Continuation Of FREHLEY'S COMET"

Greece's Rockpages web magazine conducted an exclusive interview with two former members of Frehley's Comet - Tod Howarth and John Regan - in the wake of their new band Four By Fate's debut album, Relentless. An excerpt is available below.

Rockpages.gr: Given the fact that Tod Howarth and John Regan are the two key members of the band, lots of Frehley’s Comet fans are wondering if there will be similarities between the two bands…what can you tell us about it?

Tod Howarth: "That is of course the automatic thought process for many and while we are so very grateful for those who have waited and watched we are not a continuation of Frehley's Comet. The Comet fans that have seen us, heard us and have the new CD are like 'Whoa, this shit rocks! Sooo not what I expected!! We are thrilled to hear this because John has gotten better - if even possible - on his bass and sounds/production and I have learned to sing, write and play far better than ever before because I believe one never stops learning, enjoying, being influenced and translating these things into new music - that has our stamp - where true fans will see/hear/love the growth. No, we are heavier, more melodic, and more intricate and far more a live big rock feel than the Comet."

Rockpages.gr: How is your relationship nowadays with Ace? I am asking you because there has been a period in the late '90s where there has been turmoil between you and Ace regarding financial matters…

John Regan: "To be totally honest, there was never any personal turmoil over finances between Ace and myself. I hold the record companies responsible for the issues. I was very happy to see Ace at the Chiller Convention a while back. We had a nice chat, and hopefully we will interact musically in some form sooner than later."

Four By Fate released their debut album, Relentless, on June 3rd via Amazing Record Co. in Europe. The album is available in the America's via The End Records. A full album stream can be found below.

When the mysterious power of fate helped four rock and roll veterans join forces the result was electrifying. A supergroup of four industry titans, Four By Fate’s lineup consists of: John Regan, Tod Howarth, Rob Affuso and Patrick James Gasperini.

The seeds for the band’s formation were planted in 1986 when John Regan and Tod Howarth were on tour together; Regan playing bass with John Waite and Howarth singing and playing keyboards with Cheap Trick. The tour brought the pair together as friends and musicians, and many months later Regan asked Howarth to join him in Frehley’s Comet, a band fronted by Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee, the legendary KISS guitarist/singer Ace Frehley.

Fast forward to 2014 and Regan and Howarth join forces again on a new project – Four By Fate. Enter Pat Gasperini, a New York guitarist/singer and prolific songwriter. With a solid east coast resume he adds ripping guitar hero presence and big tunes. Shortly after, the band invite powerhouse percussionist Rob Affuso (Skid Row) to complete the final foursome.

Adding further rock pedigree, other contributors to the Four By Fate story include Stet Howland (drummer for W.A.S.P.), Sean Kelly (guitarist for Helix and Nelly Furtado) and AJ Pero (drummer from Twisted Sister) recorded six tracks on the album before he tragically passed away in early 2015 – this is thought to be his last recording.
