GENE SIMMONS' Daughter Discusses Family Home Child Porn Investigation - "They’ve Kind Of Moved Past Us And They’re Still Pursuing The Case"

Back in September it was revealed that KISS co-founder Gene Simmons was helping police track down the person who used his internet connection to download child porn. At the time he didn't know if the offender was inside his house, or infiltrated his wireless network from outside.

In a new interview with ET Online, Simmons' daughter Sophie offered some details on the incident.

Sophie: “It was more of a hacking situation than it was anything physical because there wasn’t actually anything physical in our house. I feel like we would’ve noticed. But, someone used our IP address or our Wi-Fi to access something which is a relatively easy thing to do. If you’re ever driving down the street and your phone asks you if you want to use someone’s WIFI and you say yes, you’re now using their IP address so anything you do is linked back to whatever WIFI that is.”

“I think the case has moved on from our family because we’ve given the names of everyone we’ve ever had in the house and I don’t think anything was found. So, I think they’ve kind of moved past us and they’re still pursuing the case."

In a previous interview with TMZ, Gene Simmons talks about the situation and says it can happen to anybody.

“That happens to everybody," the KISS legend says, "and everyone should welcome the cops or the FBI to find out who these bad guys are. Everybody hides. Cockroaches hide right in your kitchen, even though you didn’t put them there, they are still there.”

In an interview promoting the band’s recently completed Australian tour, Simmons recounted the police search of his Los Angeles mansion.

“We came back from hiking and there was a crack taskforce from the Beverly Hills and Los Angeles Police Department, and they asked for permission to come in and search our home, and we said, ‘Sure, why not,’ ” Simmons said. “So they came in and searched all over the place, and then two or three hours later we all sat down.

“What happened was, we were off on tour about a year ago, and somehow our (internet connection) was used by some very bad people to do porn of a certain kind — the worst kind.

“So they checked the records, found out that I was on the east coast of America — they deemed that from there you couldn’t do that — our kids were off in Canada, (wife) Shannon was outside the country ...

“They’re (police) on the trail, and we’re actually helping the FBI and the cops track down the bad guy.”
