GENE SIMMONS Named Grand Marshall Of Toronto Indy Car Race
June 15, 2009, 15 years ago
KISS bassist/vocalist GENE SIMMONS has issued the following update:
"Just came back from doing ADR on the new written/directed Mike Judge film, Extract (Miramax). The process involves me standing in front of a microphone (mic) and saying a few lines the director wants in the film. There is usually a movie screen in front of me, and I try to match what I say.The film comes out in September. More later.
Usually, days are spent going back and forth between recording the new KISS studio album (check out kissonline.com for all the latest), produced by Paul, to filming the last few episodes of Season IV of our Gene Simmons Family Jewels (in case you're missing it, every weekend, on Sat and Sun, at various times, A&E; runs a marathon of our shows and then on Sunday evening, they run two new episodes, along with a few reruns. Check your local listings for details).
And, just found out I'm going to be Grand Marshall of the Toronto Indy Car Race, July 12th. Both Rich Abramson and I will be there (Rich and I have the marketing company, Simmons/Abramson, which works for a number of high end companies).
At the event, our Simmons Records - Universal Music Canada team plan to announce something very special. But we don't want to let the entire cat out of the bag just yet.
And, that night, there will be some goings on, which we'll tell you about soon.
We're also developing Stupid, based on the book How I Became Stupid, as a motion picture, with Scott Steindorff, who has produced such movies as Human Stain (Nicole Kidman/Anthony Hopkins). We're waiting for the right lead and then we're off.
KISS will be playing a number of select shows in Canada in July. Check out kissonline.com for details.
Then, July 24rd through July 26th, I will be at Comicon (San Diego) with my good looking son, Nick, for a big event at the Hard Rock. Hosted by Radical Comics, the party will debut Nick's graphic novel, Incarnate. He both wrote and drew it. Wait 'til you see it. It's a killer.
We're also working on a number of other high profile projects, but can't talk about 'em just yet."
