GUNS N' ROSES "Obviously Need IZZY STRADLIN," Says THE COMPULSIONS Frontman ROB CARLYLE; Audio

On The Rocks With Jim Long conducted an interview recently with The Compulsions frontman, Rob Carlyle. The chat included a track-by-track breakdown of Ferocious - the latest album by Rob Carlyle & The Compulsions - followed by a Q&A in which Carlyle answered questions from fans.

When Carlyle was asked for his opinion on the new material released a few months ago by Guns N' Roses, which currently includes former Compulsions bandmates Frank Ferrer and Richard Fortus, the New York rocker praised GN'R's production and musicianship but quipped that from a songwriting standpoint, "They obviously need Izzy Stradlin."

To hear the entire interview, in which Carlyle also cites classic-era Guns N' Roses as a musical influence along with a long list of artists such as The Black Crowes, Black Sabbath, George Clinton, Faces, The Georgia Satellites, Nine Inch Nails, Jimmy Page, Pink Floyd, Iggy Pop, Keith Richards, The Rolling Stones and Joe Walsh, click here.

The Compulsions' third album, Ferocious, was officially released in November 2020. Frontman Rob Carlyle drafted the very best New York-area musicians he could find, including world-renowned guitarists, Earl Slick and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, best known for their work with David Bowie and Guns N’ Roses, respectively; along with former Raging Slab bassist, Alec Morton; former New York Dolls drummer, Brian Delaney; and current Guns N' Roses drummer, Frank Ferrer.

Additional personnel on Ferocious includes saxophonist, Craig Dreyer, who has worked with Warren Haynes and Keith Richards; and backing singer, Nicki Richards, whose resume includes Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Madonna and many others.

Ferocious tracklisting:

"Born On A Landfill"
"Band Of Thieves"
"Addicted"
"Dead Flowers"
"Dirtbag Blues"
"Funk #666"
"Killer In The Woodshed"
"Dust N' Bones"
