According to Fox News, while AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler took time out Monday night to support pal Johnny Depp at the Hollywood premiere of his new Tim Burton flick Dark Shadows, it's been Depp that's been helping out as a sounding board for the band's new album.

"Johnny is a great musician and many people don't know that, he plays piano, guitar, he knows his music. We are actually in Tim Burton's old studio right now called Swinghouse doing our new Aerosmith album, and Johnny will come down every other night," Tyler told FOX411's Pop Tarts column. "And then when we are done recording I go up to Johnny's house and I play him stuff and ask if it is any good... He gives me (honest feedback)."

Aerosmith is working with their long-time producer Jack Douglas, who worked on such classic Aerosmith albums as 1974's Get Your Wings, 1975's Toys In The Attic and 1976's Rocks, as well as the band's 2004 collection of blues standards, Honkin' On Bobo. The album is tentatively due out in September and some song titles include: 'Legendary Child', 'Beautiful' and 'Out Go The Lights'.

Tyler revealed in a Twitter post last week that the band was set to start filming a new video with Casey Patrick Tebo, who also is directing a new concert film titled Aerosmith: Rock For The Rising Sun. According to Tebo’s official website, the movie will focus on the band’s relationship with its Japanese fans, and is expected to be released later this year or in 2013.
