MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson is featured in a new interview with BigMusicGeek.com. An excerpt is available below.

Q: With this being your first experience as a part of the group’s current line-up, stylistically, have you found it difficult to adapt to the different musical styles and personalities brought for by a new guitarist and drummer?

David: “It’s interesting because everyone has their own musical style. (Guitarist) Chris Broderick is a guy who plays guitar thirteen hours a day (laughs). Dave was like ‘He can really nail all of the parts of the other past members’ and he really can. (Former guitarist) Marty Friedman has moved on to do other music. I chat with him once or twice a year via E-Mail and he seems really happy and content doin’ what he’s doin’ right now. Dave and (former drummer) Nick Menza tried to work together a few years ago when he reformed the band and that didn’t work out, so that opportunity may be on the back burner at this point. Not only is (drummer) Shawn Drover a really solid player, but also a personality within the Megadeth fold. Chris Broderick seems to have both the right temperament and the chops to hold the guitar position, especially considering what he did on the new album Endgame, so everything seems really solid right now, with the exception of the bass player position (laughs). I don’t know any of the details behind and want to keep my part moving forward, but James LoMenzo, I know him a little bit and, as near as I can tell, is a truly wonderful guy and a phenomenal bass player. Jumping in and playing Megadeth songs is something, given his past work (DAVID LEE ROTH, PRIDE & GLORY, WHITE LION), many felt he wouldn’t have done because it’s just not his style. But I gotta tell ya, he gets my ringing endorsement. He did a fantastic job. I’ve watched some of the videos and I think he did a great job with his time in the group, so I have nothing but truly good things to say about his participation.”
