METALLICA have issued the following update:

"We'll be visiting our friends in Lisbon, Portugal by playing the Optimus Alive!09 festival on July 9. Tickets are available now via www.ticketline.pt. Click here for details on this festival.

We're also heading back to Rock Werchter in Belgium on Sunday, July 5. Tickets will go onsale on Saturday, February 14 at 9am local time (12am PST) via www.rockwerchter.be and www.proximusgoformusic.be. For more details, click here.

Greetings from Northern California. As you probably noticed, there are a few open dates on the calendar this summer and we'll be filling them by visiting some of our favorite spots in Europe and hitting the annual music festivals. With that said, we're looking forward to heading back to Nickelsdorf, Austria for the Novarock Festival on Friday, June 19, 2009.

Three day tickets are already on sale at www.musicticket.at and currently you can only purchase a pass for the entire weekend. Other headliners are Placebo and Die Toten Hosen.
