OBITUARY's Terry Butler Talks Historic Early Florida Death Metal Days, Chuck Schuldiner, Inked In Blood In New Audio Interview

Bassist Terry Butler recently checked into Matthew O'Shaughnessy's WVOX Metal Mayhem show in New York and discussed a wide berth of topics including his heralded days in Death, the untimely passing of Chuck Schuldiner.

"His sad succumbing just served to galvanize the band even more,” says Butler. “Chuck just simply wanted to play death metal. He lived for it."

Butler also reaches deep into himself and discusses his memories in Massacre, the latest Obituary album, Inked In blood, Obituary tour plans and much more during the ever candid and no-holds-barred live on air worldwide chat. During the interview, Butler also reveals more never before heard insight into the beginning days of the burgeoning Florida death metal scene, and gives a first hand look into the life and times of that now iconic period in US death metal.

"They were a killer band, they stuck to their roots, they were pioneers of the death metal scene,” comments Butler on Obituary.
