November 18, 2009, 15 years ago
The Metal Den has received an amateur shot video, roughly five minutes in length, showing an 18 year old ZAKK WYLDE in 1985 performing on stage with his high school band, ZYRIS, right before he would go on to land his gig with OZZY OSBOURNE in 1987.
This is the earliest known footage of Wylde ever to be captured. View the video below.
Wylde (born Jeffrey Weilandt) grew up in Jackson, NJ, and went to Jackson Memorial High School, where he graduated in 1985. Zakk made his compelling debut on Ozzys 1988 studio album, No Rest For The Wicked.
