Savanna Students Skip School Because Of "Metal Destroyer Militia" Threat

According to Myfoxla.com, more than half the students at Savanna High School in Anaheim stayed home Friday in response to a cryptic message in a school newspaper that mentioned "Metal Destroyer Militia" and said "We all go down 2/22!!," but nothing happened, school officials said.
"Today was the day," said Pat Karlak of the Anaheim Union High School District. "The school was very quiet and very safe."The student population at Savanna High School is 2,200, and 1,400 were absent, which will cost the district about $50,000 in state aid, Karlak said.
