BW&BK; has received the following press release:

B-movie queen Suzi Lorraine and Playboy Playmate Colleen Marie will be co-starring alongside L.A. GUNS singer Phil Lewis in his feature film debut Witchmaster General which is being readied for a late 2008/early 2009 release.

The horror film from maverick indie horror maven Jim Haggerty (I Dream Of Dracula, The Slasher) will feature Lorraine as a cruel and unfaithful wife and Marie as a touch-talking bartender who warms up to the hard-boiled cop trying to stop the evil Dr. Gorgon, played by Lewis.

“We’ve been really lucky – not only with Phil but with these lovely ladies. They’re not only beautiful, but they’re both really talented actresses with a lot of onscreen charisma.

Lorraine, a veteran of more than 30 movies within the genre - including ‘Spiderbabe,’ and ‘Torment’ - and writer for Gorezone, was charming both on screen and on the set.

“It was an honor and a privilege to work with Suzi – she really is the best at what she does. Hands down the best of the current crop of scream queens, she’s a total professional and such a sweet girl. It blew me away how she could muster that mean streak for (her character) Delia. Delia’s kind of a bitch and somehow Suzi was able to bring that out – and not in a real Joan Crawford, over-the-top kind of way, very subtle and understated. She’s great.”

In addition to being the film debut for L.A. Guns singer Phil Lewis, ‘Witchmaster General’ is also the debut of gorgeous 2003 Playboy Playmate Colleen Marie and Haggerty was truly impressed with her performance – especially since this was her maiden voyage.

“I am frankly amazed and what a great actress Colleen was. We all knew she was beautiful, but could she act? Yes – absolutely. She came in totally prepared and really did her homework. I ran lines with her over the phone beforehand, and any suggestions I made she really took to heart and came in as (her character) Rose. She was just so natural, and on target – I barely had to give her any direction on set, she was truly that good. I don’t know if she’s interested in pursuing acting full-time or if this was just a lark, but she should certainly do more. I loved working with her and really hope I have the opportunity to again.”

Of course the real star of the film is Phil Lewis of the legendary rock band L.A. Guns - famous for their hits 'The Ballad of Jayne', 'Rip And Tear', 'Sex Action', and 'Never Enough' who continue to thrive on the concert circuit supporting their recent smash hit Tales From The Strip. Haggerty was not only honored to have one of the musical heroes of his youth in the film, but delighted at how good he was.

'Growing up listening to L.A. Guns and being a longtime fan of Phil's, it was so amazing to have the opportunity to work with him and have him be the star of my film. And what's really great is he's an amazing actor, a complete professional and a perfect gentleman. He was always kind, considerate, and dedicated to what we were doing. There was not a hint of ego - he really was ready to go to any lengths to make the scenes work and nail everything exactly how I wanted it.'

'And Phil's performance was a joy to behold. It amazed us all that he really hasn't done very much acting before. I think every single actor and crew person on set had to ask me if he'd done this before because he was so good. Casting Phil as Dr. Gorgon is one of the best decisions I've ever made.'

Photos of Lewis, Lorraine, and Marie both from the film and behind the scenes can be viewed here.

The film – which also stars Vic Martino, Charlie Parshley, Jae Mosc, and Tatyana Kot - will see the light of day sometime in late 2008/early 2009 after Haggerty's highly anticipated Grave Danger (which stars another Playboy Playmate - the legendary Miss August 1982 Cathy St. George) is released this Summer (official website: www.miracles4less.com )

'We've got more stuff to shoot…for 'Witchmaster General' and we're in post-production for 'Grave Danger' right now. That should be out by the Summer and then 'Witchmaster' should get out the last quarter of this year or first quarter of next year. We're looking for distributors now. We have to move it along fast because I'm already gearing up to write Witchmaster General 2!' Haggerty says.
