STRYPER Frontman MICHAEL SWEET In Praise Of PLUSH - "I'm In Your Corner Cheering For You And Your Well Earned Success"
November 1, 2021, 3 years ago
Stryper frontman Michael Sweet took to social media last week to sing the praises of all-female rock band, Plush. Check out his comments below.
Michael Sweet: "I first met Moriah Formica when she was opening for me a few years back. I am rarely so blown away that I watch the entire opening set (instead of getting prepared for my own set) but that night I was literally floored!
I met Mo and fell in love with not only her talent and abilities but more importantly, her heart and spirit. She’s become family and I am now officially her 'Uncle Mike'. I had the honor and pleasure to produce a song for Mo ('Time') and she also sang on my solo album One Sided War ('Can’t Take This Life'). My list of artists who have impressed me beyond words is very exclusive and she is on that list! She always will be.
I’m so proud of her and I’m happy to announce that her band Plush has a new album. Although I’ve not met Bella Perron, Ashley Suppa, or Brooke C., I’m very proud of you all as well! I’m in your corners cheering for you and your well earned success and I’m smiling ear to ear. I wish you all nothing but the best and I look forward to seeing you all perform in the very near future.
To all MS/Stryper fans out there - don’t hesitate to order this incredible album from this amazing band! Plush Rocks!"
Plush released their self-titled debut album on October 29 via Pavement Entertainment. The girls released their second single “Athena”, a jaw-dropping song that has electrified audiences during recent live performances across the United States. Listen to the single below. “Athena” follows Plush's debut single “Hate”, which climbed to #24 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart and continued to chart for a total of 17 weeks straight.
Vocalist Moriah Formica says, "'Athena' is one of my favorites on the album and definitely my favorite song to play live! I can’t wait for this album to come out and for everyone to hear what we’ve created.”
Bassist Ashley Suppa adds, “I’ve always viewed ‘Athena’ as a song that introduces a mystifying and intense energy to our album.”
Guitarist Bella Perron notes, “It’s been amazing to see such a positive response to the song. We are all so grateful for the support.”
Drummer Brooke Colucci says, “We’re so excited to release our debut album and I truly believe there is something on it for everyone!”
The album was produced by Johnny K (Staind, 3 Doors Down, Disturbed) and features thirteen tracks of melodic in-your-face heavy rock.
