Update: EXODUS' Gary Holt To Replace SLAYER's Jeff Hanneman On This Weekend's Big 4 Show

EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt will be replacing SLAYER's Jeff Hanneman on this weekends Big 4 show in Indio, CA. As previously reported Tom Araya was hoping that Jeff would return for this show, but as it seems things haven't worked out.
The Big 4 - METALLICA, Slayer, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX will play at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA this Saturday which marks the only US Big 4 appearance this year. Slayer aren't the only band with a replacement, Anthrax' Scott Ian will be replaced by Andreas Kisser of SEPULTURA.
Slayer singer Tom Araya recently told Steve Appleford from LAWeekly.com: "From what I'm being told, (Jeff) wants to do the show, but we don't really know what condition he's in. He's obviously doing well enough to play his guitar, so that says a lot that he's determined to want to play the show. Apparently he's healing well. He has two tender areas on his arm that cause him pain when he plays the guitar, but he's eager to play, he's eager to get back out on the road with us. I know that he's healing well enough to want to play the show. We'll see."
