Bassist Phil Kennemore of California hard rock legends Y&T; has been forced to leave the band's current tour in order to receive treatment for an injured back.

A statement from Y&T; Manager Jill Meniketti reads as follows: "The doctor has ordered Phil home to get rest and treatment. Extremely proud of the new Facemelter album, and the work that he, Dave, John, and Mike have done, Phil wants the tour to continue. So to honor his wish, we have a substitute bass player (WAR & PEACE's Brad Lang) until he's able to return. He was gracious enough to step up to help us with less than 24-hour's notice. He's with us right now in Wisconsin, and is extremely proud and excited to be playing with Y&T; and helping out for Phil. Phil says: 'On with the show'."

Y&T; are supporting their new album, Facemelter, which features original members Dave Meniketti (vocals and lead guitars) and Phil Kennemore (bass), along with longtime members John Nymann (guitar) and Mike Vanderhule (drums).
