STORMBRINGER FESTIVAL - Day 2: Ladies Night In Buf....Worcester!
July 18, 2023, a year ago
Nine bands, kicking off day 2 of Stormbringer Festival at 3:30 PM. Right from the start, Colorado natives Chamber Mage threw down the gauntlet. Cocilium offered some female vocal doom, while Night Cobra (featuring Hell's Heroes Festival honcho Christian Larson on the mic) added some high octane mayhem.
A step up in professionalism, the traditional minded power metal of Adamantis (festival organizer Evgeny Gromovoy on drums) was one of the day's highlights. Sanhedrin were the first of a successive trio of bands to feature a frontwoman. The speed metal onslaught of Solicitor, fronted by the enigmatic Amy Lee Carlson, was the best band of the day, producing a blur of activity, onstage and off.
The hooded menaces of Savage Master threatened to tear the place apart. Traveler made the already sweltering crowd sweat even more, with a set culled predominately from the eponymous debut and Visigoth closed, with a heavy dose of classic metal. Here's a visual sampler of what transpired.
A more detailed report will be posted later.
