Metallic sludge innovators BLACK COBRA have released their new video, for 'The Crimson Blade', the first official video to be released from their 2011-released Invernal LP.

Conceived/constructed by the band themselves and director Greg Downing, 'The Crimson Blade' was filmed in three days for absolutely no money. The plot portrays the concept of the song, following one man as he devolves to a previous state of humanity and resorts to cannibalism in a post-apocalyptic world. During the filming of the gory visual depiction, actor Landon Bates actually ended up accidentally cutting himself multiple times, with actual wounds fueling some of the bloody scenes.

Stated the members of Black Cobra: “The video’s concept was a collaboration between director Greg Downing and ourselves. We were familiar with his work in the bands GLITTER WIZARD and BUFFALO TOOTH and he was enthusiastic about working with us as well. In general, it's about isolation, paranoia and desperation. The utter darkness also gives it an overall feel of confusion. We're really stoked on how it came together.”

And as always, more shows and news will be announced shortly.

Black Cobra live dates include:

August

September
